CES를 주최하는 CTA는 "기술, 디자인 혁신 기업과 제품(서비스)에 수여하는 CES 혁신상 신청을 2025년 7월 1일부터 오는 8월 22일까지 받는다. 최종 선정 결과는 10월 22일 발표할 예정이다"고 밝혔다. CES2026 혁신상은 지난 4월 1일부터 오는 2026년 3월 31일 사이 시장에 처음 출시된 제품을 대상으로 하며, 총 36개 카테고리에서 기술적 우수성과 혁신성을 평가한다.혁신상은 카테고리별로 최고 점수를 받은 ‘혁신상(Honoree)’과 프로그램 전체에서 가장 높은 평가를 받은 ‘최고 혁신상(Best of Innovation)’으로 구분된다. 혁신상은 수상 여부에 따라 CES에서 잠재 고객군들의 즉각적인 주목을 받는 것은 물론, 글로벌 시장에 진출할 수 있는 발판을 마련할 수 있다는데 의미가 있다. 올해 CES 혁신상에서는 산업과 기술 변화에 발맞춰 새로운 카테고리와 트렌드가 대거 반영됐다. 특히 영화 제작 및 배급(Filmmaking & Distribution) 분야가 독립 카테고리로 신설됐다. 이 분야에서는 생성형 AI를 활용한 시나리오 작성, 자동 편집, 자막 및 다국어 더빙 솔루션과 같은 기술뿐 아니라, LED 월 기반 가상 스튜디오 등 버추얼 프로덕션 기술, 스트리밍 최적화 플랫폼, 콘텐츠 개인화 엔진, IP 및 저작권 관리 시스템 등 영상 산업 전반의 디지털 전환이 주요 평가 대상이 된다.사회적 가치와 지속 가능성을 반영한 ‘휴먼 시큐리티(HS4A, Human Security for All)’, ‘지속가능성’, ‘스마트 커뮤니티’ 등도 주목된다. 또 ‘뷰티 테크(Beauty Tech)’, ‘패션 테크(Fashion Tech)’, ‘펫 앤드 애니멀 테크(Pet & Animal Tech)’ 등 일상 속 기술 혁신 카테고리도 새롭게 정비됐다. AI, XR, 디지털 헬스, 푸드테크 등 기존 분야도 세분화되어 평가 기준이 강화됐다.수상작은 11월 5일 공개되며, 엠바고 제품의 경우 CES 개막일인 2026년 1월 4일에 공개된다. 접수비는 신청 시기에 따라 다르며, 일반 참가자는 카테고리당 799달러(7월 기준) 또는 999달러(8월 기준)를 부담해야 한다. CES 2026 전시 참가 기업은 할인된 요금인 399달러 또는 599달러에 응모할 수 있다.

한국은 글로벌 테크 빅3... CTA "내년이 더 기대된다"

한국이 지난 1월 열린 CES2025에서 미국을 제외한 국가 중 가장 많은 참가자 수를 기록하며 글로벌 기술 강국으로서의 존재감을 다시 한 번 입증했다. 미국, 중국과 함께 글로벌 테크 빅3로 입지를 굳히고 있는 것이다. 미국 소비자기술협회(CTA)가 최근 발표한 'CES2025 참석자 감사 보고서(Attendance Audit Summary)'에 따르면, 한국은 총 1만 4405명의 참가자를 기록, 중국(1만 542명), 일본(6426명), 독일(2623명) 등 주요 기술 강국을 크게 앞섰다. CES2025 전체 참가자 수는 14만 2465명이었다. 대륙별로는 중동과 아시아 지역 참가자가 3만 7497명으로 가장 많았고, 유럽(1만 1470명), 미국을 제외한 북미(6392명) 순으로 나타났다. 한국은 전체 참가자 중 약 10%를 차지하게 됐다. 이 같은 한국의 활약에 대해 존 켈리 CTA 부사장 겸 CES 전시 총괄 디렉터도 높은 평가를 내놨다. 켈리 부사장은 CES 공식 미디어 파트너인 더밀크와의 인터뷰에서 "CES 2025에 참가한 한국 기업들은 유레카파크의 스타트업부터 삼성, LG, SK하이닉스, 롯데, 대동, 세라젬, 현대모비스와 같은 글로벌 리더에 이르기까지 세계 무대에서 혁신과 기술력을 선보였다"고 평가했다. 이어 "(한국 기술 커뮤니티와) 함께 혁신을 통해 글로벌 과제에 대응하고 더 나은 미래를 만들어 나갈 수 있을 것"이라며 내년 CES2026에 대한 기대감을 내비쳤다.켈리 부사장은 마지막으로 "한국의 활기찬 기술 커뮤니티와의 지속적인 파트너십을 환영하며 감사의 뜻을 전한다"고 밝혔다.
